How to tell if your puppy does not like walking …?

I have a cocker spaniel 14 weeks old, and I take him a walk. It works well on his leash, or right beside me or in front. The problem is that it does not seem to entertainment. And inevitably, every foot, either during or after it, he ends up having diarrhea. Is it nerves, heat, or is he afraid? question is: how can you know if your dog does not like going for a walk?
