I have a pekingese cocker spaniel mix..?
I have a pekingese cocker spaniel mixed dog.. and I have had him for about 10 years.. and he was already six months old when I got him.
I have an arsenal of late questions..
1: How old is he in dog years?
2: what is the life expectancy for a mixed breed
3: what is the specific life expectancy for a Cocker spaniel? or a Pekingese.
4: is it natural for my dog to look like he just finished crying? when he is happy?
5: was it wise to nuture a dog that does not hump anything? ( I got him like that).
6: how do you stop a dog from spinning around a pole everyday and then getting confused when he tries to undo what he did?
7: Is it possible that the reason why dogs don’t live long , or any pet for that matter, is because we give them man made medications and shots and what not?
I’m never very good at the whole ‘dog years’ thing, but it averages out to be about 7 years per human year. So he would be around 75.
Mixed breeds have no ‘life expectancy’ because they can pick up traits from any of the breeds they are mixed with. Cocker Spaniels are generally 14-15 and Pekingese maybe a little older. However, poorly bred dogs will generally not live as long.
Tear stains are fairly common in both of those breeds so I’m not shocked that he always looks like he’s crying. Best way to remove them is by wiping his eyes everyday with a damp cloth.
Yes, it’s always wise to neuter your dog unless he is breeding quality and proven stock.
I’m not entirely sure what you mean by this, but what I’m thinking is you keep him on a tie out and he spins and chokes himself and then can’t figure out how to unwind. Tie-outs are bad ideas and can often result in a dog hanging themselves. DEFINITELY nothing a small breed dog should be left on unsupervised.
No, the reason they don’t live long is because they have shorter life spans. They age much faster than humans. All animals have different life spans because we’re all built differently.
