Field Spaniel Dog Breed

Dog Field Spaniel differs from its better known cousin, the Cocker being longer in the body and a little larger in size. History This dog breed can be described as a swing adventure along always brink of disaster. The Field Spaniel breed was created in 1800 as a bird hunting and retrieving gun dog that, with its added height and bone structure, was supposed to replace other existing spaniels and be a All-terrain dog round hence the name whatsoever.

This dog breed is developed from crosses between cocker English, Spaniel Sussex and the English Water Spaniel. Since the objective was to raise a dog with a greater height and weight as the dogs reached 25 pounds in weight and exceeded 15.5 inches in height were used in the development program.

Soon, the Field Spaniel development program has been declared successful and the new breed of dog to live up to expectations. The spaniel was classified a hunting dog capable and worthy, admirably suited to birds Hunting and recovery. But success was short-lived before the disaster struck and perched in the form of a grant enabling the pedigree Field Spaniel to perform in dog shows and exhibitions.

With a zeal and passion that is rarely seen outside a shark feeding frenzy fest, lovers dog show took upon themselves to "improve" the Field Spaniel breed of dog. In what may described as an excess of extremism (fortunately not very visible today) they show bench pigeon genetically stretched and shrunk the Field Spaniel, as if for the whole world they were somewhat hybrid concept sports car slung! The results were a surprise disaster.

The Field Spaniel Dog Transforms From Beauty in the Beast

The field spaniel almost in the blink of an eye was transformed into an elegant and well-proportioned dog in a slump, ugly, squat and heavy creature. So bad is the Field Spaniel breed of dog appear After the show fans had their day one critic was moved to opine that the only hope of survival that race was to sprout a third pair of legs for supporting the hammock to collapse like the mid-belly!

By the early 1900s the fate of the Spaniel field has been sealed. It is obvious that the "new improved" Field Spaniel dog breed was far and what was Equally obvious is that his days as a hunting dog sport was over. But it was not anything that was more to this dog breed both fine and now even his days as a show dog were counted. As if the news were not bad enough, what was readily become apparent was that the field has been Spaniel in very real danger of becoming just another breed of dog has disappeared.

Everyone except the most stubborn and obtuse show-bench fans had to concede that the so-called enhanced strain Field Spaniel to look ridiculous. Any elegance and grace to the dog once was lost long ago and replaced by a heavy dog ugly. The disaffection of the Field Spaniel spread quickly to the public and what little traction in popularity until the point that the race has grown rapidly dissipated.

In the aftermath of two world wars, in 1945, the Field Spaniel breed dog was literally on the brink of extinction. Fortunately, however, the race was still quite expensive by many so that by the late 1950s a concerted effort is underway to restore and revitalize the field spaniel to its former glory. To achieve this end, the Field Spaniel was pressed to the English Cocker Spaniel and English Springer Spaniel dog breeds. Fairly early breeders were met with success and today the modern Field Spaniel is again a very capable dog on the ground, which also exudes elegance and the royal pardon origin.

Four individuals Spaniel Field, dating to the 1950s have been credited more to restore the breed dog to its former glory. These four dogs were called: Ronayne Regal Gormac Teal, Colombina Teffont and Elmbury Morwen. Despite the resurrection of Field Spaniel extinction almost certain to date from the same breed of dog is a rarity in America.

This breed of dog is great with kids and more than satisfy the appetite adequately all children to play. The Field Spaniel means well with other animals and also co-exist well with other dogs. This dog is calm, welcoming foreigners and thus does not have a dog, a good protection.

Field Spaniel Dog Care

It is a breed of bright and energetic dog so it needs moderate amounts of exercise on a daily basis. Although ideally it should have the chance to extend his legs and run flat, seeing that it has not always possible, its exercise needs can be satisfied with the long walk on a leash. Although the Field Spaniel does best as a pet inside and should not be deprived of human contact, the optimal situation is one where the dog can divide his time between home and yard.
